You are a discarded humanoid robot.

Thrown away by your human owners, you’ve been banished to the Mangle – a vast scrapyard orbiting Earth. New waste arrives here via a space elevator called the Tether, a colossal bridge that dominates the skyline.

Incoming refuse is automatically loaded into pneumatic cannons and launched onto the satellite’s surface. As you’re shunted into one of these devices, packed in among other broken robots, you can’t help but wonder… What is my purpose now?

Rust in Pieces is a one-page table top robot roleplaying game – to be played with a gamemaster and a few players with d6 and d4 dice.

Selling your soul was only the beginning

In this realm, countless unseen entities dictate fate, influencing every twist and turn of existence. Every undertaking is guided, or crushed by many inscrutable forces with their own clandestine designs.

For most mortals, survival is a delicate balance of bargaining and compromise, everday life requiring sacrifice to more powerful entities in exchange for protection.

Those who enter into such agreements with mortals are called “backers” and, for most backers that is only the lightest touch of their power.

With a far greater sacrifice, a person can catch the attention of one of a myriad of alien horrors lurking beyond the veil, ready to strike a pact for their hearts desire.

You are among such individuals, a Soul Trader.

You’ve already traded your entire natural life, leaving you indebted to a backer who has a new bargain for you, one too tantalising to resist.
